The past two weeks have been very bus for us, we have been doing assessments and learning about weather! The kids have made great progress over the last trimester and we keep on continuing to learn so much!
We have learned about the water cycle and how rain is made. We have also learned about the different types of weather that we have all over the United States. We have gone outside a couple of times of the past two weeks and looked at our weather, talked about it, wrote about it, and even drew about it. Our first science experiment on weather was the water cycle. We talked about the different terms that and how exactly it works. We made a chart together, and then made our own chart along with making our own water cycle in bag! They thought it was the greatest thing!
We then watched the water cycle in another experiment that involved shaving cream as our condensation (clouds) and food coloring as our precipitation. We were amazed at how it really took a while for the clouds to get heavy enough to start dropping the rain. After we talked about what we saw, we went and wrote about it! We are definitely becoming great scientists!
