Cat in the Hat, the Lorax, and a couple of fish came to visit our classroom on Wednesday. We had a great day on Wednesday where we rhymed, read and did some crafts. We read The Cat in the Hat and then made hats to match and rhyme just like Dr. Suess. While we were waiting for others to finish their hats we had such a great time reading Dr. Suess books. Then we had a guest reader come read to us! Mrs. Hudec came to read "Are You My Mother?" and they loved it! Then we read The Lorax and made little Lorax's to hang in the classroom. We then read "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" and counted fish and graphed them. Once they were finished they had a nice little snack :) Overall Read Across America Day was a success!
Then on Friday we learned all about the saying "In like a lion, out like a lamb". We read a book and read our magazine "Let's Find Out" after that we made predictions on whether March weather will be "lamb weather" or "lion weather". The overall vote was for "lamb weather"! After we graphed it, we made a little craft and wrote about it. We have had a very exciting and fun week of learning!
