What a fun loving week we have had! We started off the month of February reading about "Love Splat!". We loved reading about a little kitty who has a crush on a fluffy white kitty in his class. We learned that love can mean more than liking someone, it means being kind, taking care of someone, being polite. We talked about the different things that mean love to us. We then made little "Splat Cats" where we wrote about what love was to us. They did a great job and it was great to see what love meant to all of them!
Then we read a book about a love monster who was on the search for someone to love. He wasn't sure if he was going to ever find someone that would love him back. He ends up finding someone who is perfect just like him! :)
We then painted and made our own little love monsters to collect all of our valentines! We did a great job making our monsters, each one came out so cute and so different! On Friday when we had our Valentine's Party we had a great time. Everyone loved passing out their own cards to everyone and they loved getting some. They were very sweet, so excited every time they pulled out a new card, and they were so polite and said thank you to everyone.
After our party we went out to the quad for our second Spirit Day. They had a blast listening to the third graders sing their songs and had fun pumping up the spirit for getting our 100 million words read!
Next week we are starting our weather unit. Stay tuned for more updates, we will be conducting lots of weather experiments! :)
