Well I sure did miss all of them! We are back into the groove and moving right along in our learning. We had all new math and reading centers last week, they loved it! We are doing a lot of hands on centers that incorporate sight words, CVC words, and practicing our writing. We are also doing math centers that incorporate number fluency and addition.
Our first we back we read a story about "Squirrel's New Years Resolution". After reading it, we all chose goals for ourselves and made a 2016 goals flip book! They set such great goals!
This week we continued our learning about baby animals and all the different animals around the world. We also continued to build our number fluency, they are doing great!
This months Harvest of the Month was lettuce! We tried all kinds of different letter, green leaf, read leaf, romaine, and butter lettuce! They loved mostly all of it, the red leaf was a little bitter, but they still loved it. We talked about the different things that you can make with lettuce and how it was full of vitamin A.
On Friday we read our "Let's Find Out" magazine about Martin Luther King Jr. We read a book "Happy Birthday Mr. King" and talked about how things have changed for the better because of him. After we watched a great video by "Kid President" we thought about what we would like to be "our dream" for the world. We wrote them in cute little dream clouds and hung them around the room.
It has been a great couple of weeks, can't wait for the 100th day celebration coming soon!
