Where has the month gone?! Where has the year gone?! Sheesh it has flown by and we have been up to so much over the last month.
Our class was so lucky to have been visited by two fabulous elves from the Santa's workshop! They are so kind and are leaving us wonderful notes everyday, showing us different ways to show and bring kindness to someone else. Gingy and Bart have been visiting us everyday telling us how we've been going a great job, spreading the kindness.

We had a "Sense of Smell" science experiment at the beginning of the week, where we had 6 jars filled with different things. Once they had been in the water for a day or two, we used just our sense of smell to figure out which one it was. They had a lot of fun smelling and trying to see which one was which!
We also went shopping at Santa's shop this week, where we learned to shop for others, and to spend our dollars carefully.
After that we read the book "Mooseltoe" where we learned about Mr. Moose and how he saved Christmas for his own family! We had a lot of fun decorating our moose!
All month long we have been learning about weight and measurement. We measured the room with different things, comparing size. We have also been weighing different things comparing what was lighter and what was heavier than the other.
Later in the week we tried a new art project where we drew snowmen by following step by step drawings. At first they were skeptical and didn't like the way it looked, but then the finished product really surprised them!
Our Harvest of the Month fruit was apples, and although we had already tried most apples in September, we tried a few different kinds, even crab apples!!! They loved those, mostly because how small and cute they were.
Today we had such a busy but fun day. We "made 10" with our gingerbread boys and girls, where we rolled a dice and added the rest to make 10! They had a lot of fun doing this. After that we had a guest visit us and tell us two wonderful stories! He was such a great story teller, we were captivated by his silly voices and crazy sounds.
Then to finish off the day we came back in the class room and warmed up by the fire! We turned down the lights and read a couple of Christmas stories and worked on our Christmas writing. It was a great end to a cold blustery day! Stay tuned for more great stuff in the short week to come!
